Leadership - Influence - Network - Knowledge - Skills
LINKS is a mentorship program connecting Tennessee Reconnect adult learners with business and industry leaders in their field.
Adult learners, known as Proteges, are paired with industry professionals with whom they meet over the course of six months. Mentors provide personalized support, networking opportunities, resume and cover letter review, mock interviews or interview preparation, and career advice on next steps for students.
Professionals with 5 or more years of experience in their field are eligible to be a Mentor. Your knowledge and experience allows you to provide valuable guidance and insight to your Protégé.
Mentorship allows you to share your professional insights with a Reconnect student that is looking to take the next step in their career, or transition to a new one. Your willingness to be honest and helpful can help shape someone else’s career path. As you share your knowledge, you’ll expand your own awareness of yourself as a leader while giving back to the community and developing Tennessee’s workforce. LINKS is open to Reconnect students that have completed 12 credit hours in an Associate degree program. No matter your age, years of experience, current role, or familiarity with other fields, you can continue to grow and learn by benefiting from the support and knowledge of a professional mentor.
A mentor can provide valuable insight. Learning from your mentor’s experiences and creating a relationship will help guide you as you grow in your career, or transition to a new one.
